An old brick building in Värnamo, formerly a rubber factory, was to be restored to become a dynamic multifunctional space with room for both culture and business.
The building Trelleborg rubber factory was Värmland's largest workplace with up to a thousand employees. Examples of the products manufactured at the plant are bicycle tubes, galoshes, shoes, boots, hockey pucks and moldings. Operations were discontinued around the year 2000.
The purpose of the lighting of the rubber factory is that it should strengthen and improve the industrial character which
permeates the building's architecture and past operations. The lighting becomes a link between the new modern features of the building and the old preserved industrial environment.
