The terminal's design of Berg CF Möller has derived its inspiration from the traditional harbor architecture, with large constructions and warehouses, as well as the waves and movements of the water and the business.

The main idea has been to connect the port and the city in a way that allows people to move out in the port area.
The idea of lighting is based on the same principle as connecting the city with the harbor / water; cold light represents the sea and warm light represents the city. The cold light is distributed over the entire exterior structures of the main building, while the warm light is concentrated along the building's internal bodies and walls.
